Op-shopped Finds

Making the most of my final week of thrifting in all the local oppies before the move, and they didn't disappoint with a lovely little haul of a kitchen pieces.

Fire King mugs, only 50 cents each.

Pretty Pyrex, $2 each. I think I have another of the top one packed away, but the bottom one is a new design to me.

A new to me design of Johnson, 50c. I'm trawling Pinterest looking for pretty ways to display my growing plate collection. Any ideas?

A stack of Johnson, 50c each for the dinner plates and 30c for the side plate.

The find of the week may just have to be this oval shaped Johnson serving platter. The first I've seen in this shape, and a steal at only $1.
And the backdrop is one of half a dozen vintage sheets I picked up. I hadn't found any for weeks before these, and just in the nick of time these beauties turned up, with the lovely Green Tea and Red Nails about to host another Vintage Sheet Fat Quarter Swap.

Be sure to check out all the other lovely thrifted goodies over at Sophie's.

  4. Wanted to say hi and that I have been popping over recently and am really enjoying all your finds. I think you might have left me a message yonks ago but i was too disorganized to reply. I love your pyrex- I have a few sizes of that top design but have never seen that cute second one before. Also cannot wait to try that banana pud recipe as I was delighted to discover it was dairy free so kidlets can eat it too. ta, melx

  21. My mother has that whole setting! The plates in the second last pic. She even has the matching brown salt and pepper shakers. It was one of her 'good' sets when we were growing up and she still uses it.

Lots of lovely finds. Makes me want to go op-shopping today! :)

  22. What a sweet cottage, Zara. It is exactly what I pictured you'd be calling home in that lovely town. Your thrifted and handmade items will look very much part of your cottage, and I wish you well in your new location and new job.

This very week 8 years ago I was in the same town settling my daughter into her little rented cottage near Cook Park as she started her new job in the country. Reading your blog post took me back to trawling the Op shops with my daughter and filling her little cottage with thrifted kitchenalia and bric-a-brac.
