from 2012

To those who follow along here, who've stopped by, left kind and encouraging words throughout the year, a big thank you from me to you. This little space here brings such joy to my heart knowing that I am amongst like minded creative, baking, making, gardening, thrifting and photographing people.

2012 has seen...

a move to the central west of NSW
full-time work as a Registered Nurse
attending our first farm clearing sale
the first birthday of Zaranne Handmade
my 23rd birthday
plenty of thrifting
a bit of vintage floral sheet bunting and tea towel cushion sewing
new kitchen toys to play with
beautiful book purchasing
new blog discovering
attempting to live more simply and sustainably
a new vegie garden
first snow
the expansion of the milk glass, Pyrex, silver ware, floral sheet, LGB and Johnson ware collections
and a bit of relaxing with my favourite one in between

so thank you and may 2013 bring happiness and the realisation of hopes and dreams your way

a simple christmas

The smell of rain on the parched garden. I can still hear it falling on the tin roof now. A perfect early Christmas gift.

Planning a simple Christmas day picnic of roasted free-range chook on this no-knead bread; roast potato, silver beet and garlic salad and these apple tarts.

Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas spent enjoying the simple things...

christmas: gift wrapping + add yours too

The christmas advent swap was the perfect excuse to get in and try out some of the many gift wrapping ideas out and about at the moment.. here are a few I tried all using brown paper, a simple and classic base wrapping suitable for any occasion through out the year..  maybe you'll find a couple useful in your Christmas gift wrapping this festive season.

paint chip garlands and picture books

atlas pages and twine

lace and washi tape
(washi tape purchased from this etsy store which I highly recommend for its wonderful service and quick postage)

repurposed thrifted bingo cards, unique gift tags

toy tree and twine

fabric bunting and machine stitching

& buttons and string

my first time doing this little link up, and i would dearly love to see the creative wrapping in which you are giving your christmas gifts in...
