Op-shopped buys

The sweetest tea towel I've found in a little while, $2

Spools of thread, $4

Yet more cutlery again this week, the lot for 50c

This little jug in the perfect shade of pastel yellow, $2.

And now for my absolute favourite find of the week.
I spied this box tucked away on the bottom shelf of the homewares section of the local Salvos. Now all you seasoned op-shoppers will know that the brand on any box is not a given of the contents it holds, so of course I didn't want to get my hopes up...

but it was to be my lucky day. I opened the box and inside was just as the packaging had described...

with what looks like the original candles, unused, and the Pyrex in top condition.

This is the second one of these Pyrex dishes with this design, but the first with the serving stand.
Into the kitchen dresser with this one.
And as for the price- $10.. pretty reasonable I think.

Did you have any success in the op-shopping department?

Celebration winners...

A little bit later than planned, but better late than never I guess, the winners for my little 1 year blog birthday/ 100 followers celebration have been drawn. And the two lovely ladies to receive a handmade tea towel cushion cover and a couple of other goodies are Tammi of littlepoppa and Claire of Ope Shope Hope

Thank you to all who joined in and once again to those that have supported this little spot here, Zaranne Handmade.

Now just to package your goodies together and pop them in the post.

(one of my favourite op-shopping finds of late, currently housing the woollen blanket stash)

Bargain bits & bobs.

The bargain tables' special this past week- 'Bits & bobs- 10 for 20c'. How could I resist these saucers and side plates... pastels for the kitchen dresser and a couple of pretty floral Johnson of Australia designs.

Adding to the bargains picked up at the Salvation Army Store is this stash of cutlery purchased for 10c a piece, coming in at a grand total of $4.40... I couldn't quiet believe my luck.

Op-shopped

After weeks and weeks without a piece of milk glass in sight, I spied this one.. onto the mantel it goes with the rest of the milk glass family. A bargain at $2.

With a couple of new cookbooks being purchased in recent weeks, and many a page corner folded over in the biscuit chapter, a tin was on the wish list... now just to fill it.

And inside a little surprise, a couple of old photos.

Dreaming of a holiday...
a small souvenir jug.

Into the dresser with this one to join all the other pastel hues (20c).

Creating...

Yes, yet another tea towel cushion cover, but my first using a calender tea towel. I'm not sick of making them yet, so expect a few more in the coming weeks.

A selection of other cushions are partway made for this give-away too, which I shall draw early next week (well that's the plan at this stage anyway), so feel free to join in.
