Fabulous Finds

A busy week of work, work and more work. A double shift last night, and I'm feeling it this afternoon that's for sure.  Last day of my week tomorrow then a couple of days off and boy am I looking forward to it. Op-shopping is on the agenda, as some plain good old-fashioned relaxing.

These finds courtesy of a spot of mid-week thrifting.

Floral sheet, $2

Silver ware, 20c a pop

And my favourite finds at the amazing price of all three for $10 are...

these old school chairs. I'm still debating whether to paint them or leave them as is.

  2. Great finds! Silverware for 20c is very good, the shops I go to will have it for $1 or more. I was gonna say paint but they do love nice and woodeny... so...
I've just always wanted to paint dining chairs different colours!

  3. Love the sheet - they seem to get snaffled very quickly around my neck of the woods so it's always exciting to find one. Any plans for it?

  5. Great finds. I love the colours in the sheets and the pattern is very pretty. I'm the same as Rachel, the cutlery I've seen has been $1 each, so 20c is a bit of a bargain.
Hmm, the chairs, this may not come as a surprise, but I'd probably paint them white. :)

PS I hope you don't mind but I nominated you for the Leibster Award.

  6. Love the silverware. If you can bear it they make amazing wind chimes. I had a floral thrifting weekend myself. I have also made my first 'bird perching on a bangle'. Watch this space.

P.S. I never got used to shift work but those days are long behind me.

  8. I can see you've been bagging all the good stuff up there, not leaving anything for me this week. Still, I don't think I'll have time to trawl the Op Shops in your neighbourhood this visit.

I love the chairs, and I think they'd look great painted a light colour which would contrast nicely with their dark metal frames. I adore the tea towel cushion cover on the chair, the design screams "country life"; it is perfect.

  9. The sheet is lovely are you going to make one thing with it?
I'm going to say not to paint the chairs, but I'm always partial to a wood grain look.

  10. The school chairs are fantastic Zara, I saw identical ones in a Sydney cafe last week and they were painted bright aqua, looked great.

  11. They smack so of happy childhood but painted in three different colours those chairs would be delightful. I'm always keen on yellow, red and turquoise but you've seen my stools! I do love those big deep soup spoons- great for winter broths!

  13. I found some amazing plated silver at twenty cents each. Three spoons so new I polished them and will be using them myself. The hunt continues now for more!

  14. I hope you didn't clear out ALL the Op shops over weekend! I most likely won't have time to do any trawling for treasures in your neighbourhood this visit, anyway.

I love the chairs, I'd paint them a lighter colour if they were mine, to contrast with the dark metal frames. I adore the tea towel cushion cover, it screams "country life" - just perfect!
