Home again...

The bags were packed and away we went

 Mr. Tom Tom was on the most part helpful, but there was an unexpected trip across the harbour and back again. Arr well.

Ferry journeys were had

and new sweet treats were consumed

(now to bake my own)

a bit of pocket money was spent, on new

and thrifted.

Welcoming accommodation was very much appreciated

with beautiful art adorning the walls

the new dress (with thanks to Christina and Shabby Apple) had a couple of outings

and quality time with loved ones was had

So all in all a wonderful long weekend, but I must admit it's good to be home. 

A spot of op-shopping is on the cards for tomorrow then it's back to earning rather than spending.

Teaspoons, 20c a pop

A lovely and sturdy mug (50c) that will be gifted to my Siamese cat loving Grandma on our nearing trip to Sydney.

Baking

A spot of baking, with a new-to-me recipe. It's been doing the rounds around here, and it's just so simple. You may have seen it, if not here it is.

120 cookies

500g butter, at room temperature

1 cup sugar

1 tin condensed milk

5-6 cups SR flour

Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
Cream butter and sugar. Mix in condensed milk and flour.
Roll into teaspoon sized balls, and place on a lined baking tray. Flatten slightly with a fork.
Bake for 10-15 minutes.

These can be flavoured in any way you please. This batch is choc mint, using cocoa and peppermint essence. But the possibilities are endless- chopped dried fruits and nuts, choc chips, coconut, lemon zest, rolled oats, jam for jam drops, the list goes on.

This recipe like the name suggests makes a lot of cookies. I used maybe a quarter of the mix, and froze the rest, Simply rolled into a sausage shape and wrapped in baking paper; all ready to be sliced and baked at short notice.

 My luck with expanding the milk glass collection continues with two more additions to the mantel ($3 and $1). Plus the Australiana tablecloth (thrown in for free)

After a couple of weeks of Johnson free thrifting, my luck changed and I came home with a new-to-me design...
