Thrifted Collections

The milk glass collection has grown to three after this weeks additions.

The larger vase on the left was a must buy this week for $2. The little bowl was part of the treasures received from the Vintage Kitchen Swap from Kylie at lucy violet vintage. And the other vase was a purchase a few months ago.

The cupboard shelves are a little more strained after these new Pyrex additions.

This rather bright orange piece for $3, with lid (always very hard to resist), is the perfect size for storing and heating leftovers.

This large dish, although sadly without its lid made its way home, for $3. And these lemons will be put to good use making Lemon Cordial.

And the best find for the week, this snowflake casserole dish, a bit more expensive at $8, but in great condition, with lid, AND pink, my favourite, how could I resist.

Vintage Swap Beauties

This afternoon upon arriving home from my last day of hospital placement I was treated with a box filled with lovely vintage gifts from Kylie of lucy violet vintage, as part of the Vintage Kitchen Swap hosted by Stella at the golden adventures of....

And inside this box I found, beautifully wrapped...

Pyrex goodness to add to the steadily growing collection

Pyrex mug and cute milk glass bowl

The sweetest 'Salty' and 'Peppy' salt and pepper shakers, along with a lovely tablecloth.

And finally this little pink gingham apron, which is being put to good use as I make dinner tonight.

Thank you Kylie, for your very thoughtful vintage goodies.

Thrifted Goodness

As thrifting has been minimal this past week, here are a few treasures found and collected a while ago.

This pottery Bilby dish, 'Handcrafted in South Australia' by Jill. And pottery vase, 'Gulson, Goulburn' by MD. $1 each. With Freesias from the garden.

Beautiful.

Kitchen utensil collection

'BatterWhip, Curved to fit the Bowl'

And a few more.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Collections

Well I thought I'd start a (hopefully) weekly post on my growing collection of collections.

Cutlery
This collection started about a year ago, all Op-shop finds, and is stored in a few cake tins. Mainly consisting of forks and spoons, with knives proving more difficult to come by.

So many different and beautiful designs. I guess I better get back to the all that polishing.

Welcomed Weekend

Finally a sleep in, until 7 o'clock, and very much appreciated after a week of 5am starts (I really need my morning sleep). My hospital placement is nearly done, at least until my next block in mid September.
A late hot breakfast was much enjoyed this morning, with fresh eggs from the chookies...delicious.

And all ready to post off to my Vintage Kitchen Swap partner.

Unearthed Treasures

This weeks thrifting has been of a minimum, with hospital clinical placement for Uni all week. I've been allocated to theatre and have really enjoyed it, but the early starts sure are a struggle. I managed a bit of Op shopping yesterday after a bit of a sleep in, finding a few little gems.

Beautiful tea towel and fabric

Fowlers jars. Where can I find the lids for these?

More buttons added to the collection

And some put to good use

This weeks Treasures

This 33 year old tea towel, I think that's doing pretty well in tea towel years (50c).

Apple peeler, corer, slicer ($5). Makes easy work of preparing apples for apple pie. It cuts the apples, making them into a single long spiral.

And yesterday's purchases included this little dressmakers square ($1).

And while in town yesterday I just couldn't resist a quick visit into a cute kitchenware shop. And was once again tempted by the colourful KitchenAid mixers.

Gosh, all those colours...which one to choose. And all those extra attachments- the ice-cream maker, pasta making attachment, and the new pasta press..homemade macaroni sure does look tempting.
Any recommendations out there, do you get much use from your KitchenAid, any issues? I'd love to hear :).
