so with the delightful Spring weather here finally I've been able to wear this dress. I made it back in the autumn but didn't get much of a chance to wear it as the temperatures were rather winter-like.
the fabric is op-shopped upholstery type fabric and I used a
Style pattern 3671 for the top and a simple pleated skirt.
dress: handmade
tooled leather bag: newly thrifted from the tip-shop ($2)
belt: Oroton snakeskin, op-shopped ($2)
tan clogs:
Lotta from Stockholm
Love, love your dress, the colours are wonderful and the tooled leather bag really is the perfect accessory. xo
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful fabric and you've made it into something so lovely. Looks great! We should do a dress swap (although Im sure your sewing skills are better than mine)! xx
ReplyDeleteAll gorgeous Zara! So impressed with your sewing. mel x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Zara...and the bag is a great find for $2 they are bring big money on Ebay these days xx
ReplyDeleteI can remember my seventh grade teacher Mrs Sontrop being very involved in leather work and she used to hammer out bags during craft/art lessons with leather work tools.. I always remember being so fascinated with her work. She was one of those people that were often so encouraging in bringing out your creative side. Such a nice walk down memory lane, just because of your photo!
ReplyDeleteYou truly epitomise the beauty of Spring xx
ReplyDeleteFab fabric in your dress, Zara. Autumn tones really suit you. The tooled leather bag was a real find, as was the Oroton belt! I love the functionality and timeless designs of Scandinavian footwear and jackets.
ReplyDeleteAnother tooled bag....yahoo! I happened to find a black one on Friday from a nursing home oppie. I seem to have a tooled bag problem. Love that frock. You look gorgeous! Xx
ReplyDeletegorgeous fabric. I could happily have a couch/cushion cover in the fabric too, but the dress is awesome. I have a similar bag which was my mothers from the 1970s.
ReplyDeleteThat bag reminds me of my childhood, I had an aunt who had one she made herself that was so very like yours! I wish I could sew dresses like you Zaria!!
ReplyDeletePS Hooray for Spring!!!!
