a tag garland.

I've had these tags sitting on my sewing desk for some time. and just this week i had a little pop of inspiration to make them into a garland.
I went through my pinterest board of favourite quotes and sayings and typed them onto the tags using my trusty little typewriter. I then added some embellishments.. stitching on doilies and vintage sheets; and then adding a splash of watercolours too.
I then threaded them on a length of twine and with a couple of pieces of washi tape I was done.

have you been crafting of late? baking, sewing maybe?

i've been op-shopping again.

I was lucky enough to have two op-shopping outings in two days this week. yesterday we took a little drive to moss vale to check out their oppies and had a lovely lunch at an old post office come Italian café. and today I checked out the local oppies here in town. here is my selection...

the sweetest little Australian animals book (20c)
doily (20c)
spoon ($1)
2 floral doona covers ($3 each)
a 3m length of upholstery fabric ($2)
Country Road leather belt ($1)
and a selection of patterns (20c each)

have you op-shopped any goodies lately?

2. a little shopping haul
3. it's been fan weather
4. a new kitchen toy. an oil sprayer. i'm tired of buying oil in a spray can. so many resources in the packaging and not the most environmentally friendly product.

pozible.

one of my hopes for 2014 is to support ethical, handmade and small business as much as I can. i've signed up for the ethical fashion pledge over at Pip's. i've also pledged my support to a couple of pozible campaigns.

have you heard of pozible before? it's a crowd funding site that aims to help ideas and aspirations happen. you can read more about the what, how, who and why of pozible here.

one campaign that I'm supporting at the moment is Pip: Australian permaculture magazine.
the magazine is described as... 'where you can learn how to retrofit your home to make it more energy efficient, get great ideas that you can implement into your own productive food gardens, find recipes that are seasonal and use simple whole foods and read about other like-minded people who are doing inspiring things.'
fundraising is currently at 83% and with 18 days to go Robyn Rosenfeldt, the editor, publisher and creator of Pip magazine can nearly call the magazine a success.

have you come across pozible before? what do you think of it?

the most powerful thing we can do to change the world is to create the world we do want rather than trying to stop the world we don’t want.
David Holmgren, co-originator of permaculture

wearing: blue bohemian traders

another outfit to share. i seem to be on a bit of a roll with the wearing posts, i don't know how much longer it'll last though as my wardrobe isn't that well stocked at the moment. i guess it's a good excuse to do a bit more op-shopping. not that I need much of an excuse.

wearing:
denim top: from the wardrobe. it's a fav at the moment as it's so versatile. you'll find me wearing it here too.
skirt (which is actually a dress): op-shopped
scarf: a new purchase from Bohemian Traders. it's a beautiful soft cotton and is lovely and light.

hope you are having a lovely week. x
